S.E. Popcorn Stories: Socially Awkward

Wooo! First Serious Engineering Popcorn story!

It's about a dog with bowel problems! What a classy way to start!

Anyway, I'm making these short stories that have nothing to do with the overarching plot because I need to learn and develop. I'm writing the scripts for the four volumes (nine or so chapters each), but I need to practice.

For example: I learned a whole lot making this short strip. I learned that I'm pretty good with expressing emotion and personality through posture. I also learned that I need to study life drawing a lot more to make sure I make these postures believable.

I'm terrible with backgrounds, but I already knew that. Katya the husky turned out alright and I love drawing Rex's coat. I'm so damn practiced at drawing Quentin that I could do it in my sleep (this is important since he is technically the main character).

I've fallen more in love with Corelle by exaggerating her social awkwardness. I hope that this will make her more endearing to the audience and push her out of the reader-surrogate that she almost was at one point. I also wanted to show that she has a little crush on Quentin. She never acts on the crush, but she wants to impress him to make him like her more. She's just very awkward about it.

Oh, and this story she tells about the dog taking a shit in a circle - really happened. Only I was twenty three, not ten.

Plus - your boss will never be as cool as Quentin Solondez. He'll toss beers and roughhouse with you soon after tearing a dying man's brain from his skull. Fun times.
